The SEC’s new Republican majority has been dropping its legal defense of many of Gary Gensler’s actions, part of a broader effort to wipe his aggressive agenda off the books. Last week, it formally backed away from the controversial climate disclosure plan. Cases against major crypto firms have also been jettisoned. Still, there are exceptions.
