Paul Atkins had some sharp words for Finra in his pre-SEC chairman days. But as the headliner at the self-regulator’s annual conference today, he offered an olive branch. “I view SROs as being a very important part of our overall regulatory structure,” he said, though he added a bit of a caveat: “one that we need to maximize the value of.”
